The Forgotten Gift

In the history of Christmas there have been billions of gifts widely dispersed from all over the world to families, friends, and colleagues. We even place small gifts and trinkets in stockings for a wonderful surprise.

But there is one gift that has been almost forgotten.

I am not talking about a physical gift such as a toy, clothes, food, houses, cars, a new job, computer, or any tangible items. This particular gift has been shared for over 2000 years.

This historical gift has made an impact on every home that receives it.

This is the gift of God Creator of the Universe who gave us Jesus Christ. Since the fall of mankind; God knew that we needed a way to bring us back in having a pure relationship with our Creator - God. Adam and Eve fell short of this relationship once deciding to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Their eyes were opened to all evil things and their hearts were affected by this great sin.

God desired greatly throughout every nation, culture, and historical figure to recapture this relationship, friendship, fellowship, with our Creator.

No one wanted this gift but a few. Even His own people who He generously saved from Pharoah in Egypt from slavery; rejected this great gift of Life, Reconciliation, and Love.

The only way God could achieve this recapturing of a relationship was to send a part of Himself; in human form a baby through a Virgin - Mary.

This is significant because God did not want a natural beginning from mankind for His Son but a Spiritual Miracle of Conception to signify purity and power from above.

2000 years later Jesus is worshipped, prayed to, yelled at, cursed at, and forgotten by millions of people on this earth. He doesn't beg or plea with people but leaves the invitation open with a few conditions.

First it costs your life. Yes that is right; your personal, financial, spiritual, mental, and emotional states are now His once you have surrendered to have a relationship with Him.

How does one do this; Acts 2:38 - Peter said "Be baptized every one of you for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

The gift of Christ is receiving His spirit in you. Only baptism allows this entrance.

So have you forgotten the greatest gift this year? It's not too late. You have time to make it right and new with God and Christ.

He is the forgotten gift; but if you don't forget Him; He will not forget you.
